I am an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, fellowship trained in Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). After about ten years of practice in an acute care setting, I realized that allopathic medicine often falls short in getting to the root cause of a patient’s health problems. I interacted daily with sick people suffering a dismal outlook and no tools to truly improve their health. Fortunately most recovered, but just enough to be released back into the lifestyle that caused their admission in the first place. While I still use my acute care skills to identify issues that require an allopathic approach, I have a strong belief that the disease state extends far deeper, and that an integrative mindset and toolbox is necessary to truly help people.

I believe that the patient will tell the story of how they got to their present state, which is essential in determining their course of care. This takes time. A 15-minute visit to the doctor does not allow the whole story to be told, leading to unnecessary medications and testing all at the will of the health insurance companies and healthcare conglomerates. Health needs to be taken back by the individual, and information and education are the key. My goal is to inspire my patients to care about their health, and to ignite and develop their health intuition. I believe that prevention is key—avoiding hospitals and the need for “sick care” is truly important for preventing life-changing adverse events that can occur in these settings. We must be proactive to avoid this fate. I’m here to help you do just that, and to be an example as one who practices what they preach. I spend the majority of my free time reading medical literature, exercising and doing something to support my spirit. I am continually educating myself because I love it, and also to be at the top of my game for my patients. I truly care for my patients, and wake each day by setting my intention to be present and purposeful as their healthcare advocate.
